Make this frozen roasted green beans recipe and you won’t look at frozen veggies the same way again. Frozen green beans are tossed in a tasty seasoning mix, roasted to perfection in the oven, then finished off with a sprinkle of parmesan. Just rip the bag open, toss in seasoning, and roast to perfection. You get a delicious, vibrant side dish that you can easily pair with your favorite mains!
Toss the frozen green beans with olive oil in a medium mixing bowl. Season with garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Toss again to thoroughly coat the beans.
Arrange the green beans in an even layer on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and stir them around on the sheet. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the top of all the green beans.
Return to the oven and continue baking for another 10 minutes. Green beans are done when soft and tender.
Notes
Don’t take the green beans out of the freezer until your oven is preheated. You don’t want them to thaw while you’re prepping, or the baking time will be off.
Don’t thaw the frozen green beans before roasting as this will result in mushy beans. It’s best to cook them frozen.
Use a roasting rack if you have one. Keeping them up off the pan helps them cook evenly and crisp up better.
Roast the green beans to your desired doneness. If you prefer a softer texture, roast them a little longer.
Don’t line the pan with foil when roasting frozen vegetables because it will lock in the moisture. We want the beans to get nice and crisp, so skip the foil to allow for better airflow and a crispier texture.
Serve: Pair frozen roasted green beans with a starch and a protein for a well-rounded meal. Garlic mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, rice, quinoa, or farro are great choices for a starch pairing. Enjoy with any type of protein, may it be chicken, pork, beef, fish, or seafood. Store: Place leftovers in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat in the broiler or air fryer until warmed through. This dish can also be frozen, but the texture won’t be as good when reheated. Just cool completely, transfer to a small sheet tray, and store in the freezer. Once frozen, place the beans in a freezer-safe container and keep in the freezer for up to 1 month. Thaw completely in the refrigerator before reheating.
